Frequently Asked Questions

Listed below are some of the more frequently asked questions attendees have had in the past. If after reading these, you still have a question, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to assist you.

What expenses are covered by the course fee?
Course fee covers the following:
  • Tuition
  • Course Material
  • Laboratory Demonstration
  • Sight Seeing
  • Meals - lunched and dinners. Breakfast provided by the hotel
  • ALL Transportation - This includes:
    • pick-up at the airport when you arrive, and drop-off when you leave
    • to and from the hotel
    • to and from PMI
    • to and from all meals and tours
You mentioned above that you cover all travel. What if I want to go some place else besides a tour or meal?

A PMI employee will be available to you all week from 7am to the time we drop you off after dinner at night to drive you where ever you want to go, even to the grocery store. The hotel also offers a shuttle between the hours of 5am and midnight to anywhere within 5 miles of the hotel. Between midnight and 4:59am, the hotel will pay for a taxi for you.

I could only find a flight into XX Airport. Will you still come get me?

While there is an airport here in Ithaca, we realize that some of you may not be able to find a direct flight in. We will go to any of the airports in the surrounding area to pick you up no matter where they are. We have gone as far as Rochester in the past to pick up attendees. Below is a list of the main airports that are within reasonable driving distance from Ithaca and PMI.

Can you recommend a good hotel?

Yes. PMI has teamed up with Homewood Suites to offer course attendees a discounted rate for their stay in Ithaca during the course. Contact us for the phone number to call, or the link to the special web page to register online. You will not be able to get the discount by calling their 800 number listed on their website, or registering on their normal website.

How many samples can I send to have tested?

On the average, no more than 4 or 5 samples should be sent to us. This will help ensure everyone who wants to have testing done while they are here will have an equal amount of time with our technicians and machines. If you would like to have more than 4 or 5 samples tested, please contact us and we can set something up either before or after the course.

IMPORTANT: If you do plan on having samples tested, you MUST have your samples to us no later than the week before the course. This will ensure we have enough machines ready for all attendees who want to run tests. This will also ensure we have time to prepare the samples for testing. Certain samples, like hollow-fibers, need to be epoxied into our sample chambers and this process will take time away from your testing if you wait until the last minute to send or bring the samples with you.
